| FRONT DESK SECRETARY |

| Position Summary: |
| Under supervision from Deputy Health Commissioner, oversees the front desk operations regarding the operation of the phone system, managing the front counter and performing general clerical duties requested by administration. |
| |
| |
| Essential Duties: |
- 80% Front desk secretarial duties for all departments including, but not limited to, answering a multi-line phone system, assisting all visitors to the building, checking in clinic patients, distributing mail and faxes to the proper department, and keeping inventory on desk supplies.
- 10% Vital Statistics certificate printing and issuance
- 10% other duties and responsibilities assigned by administration

| Other Duties & Responsibilities: |
| Achieves defined annual goals. Participates in General Health District’s emergency preparedness drills and responses to actual emergencies, as required. Completes other duties and trainings as required by the state of Ohio, Health Commissioner, Deputy Health Commissioner/Administrator and Board of Health. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
| Ability to be trained in vital statistics; ability to complete secretarial duties; or equivalent |
| |
| |

- Knowledge of financial functions
- Knowledge of personnel policy and procedures
- Ability to do secretarial work of the Health Department
- Ability to analyze data and complete reports
- Ability to utilize email, electronic calendars, word processing software, spreadsheets, databases and desktop publishing software
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate multiple initiatives or objectives within projected timeframes
- Ability to communicate effectively and make public presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to foster relationships with coworkers, collaborators and the public
- Ability to work quickly, precisely and accurately with detailed information

| Work Environment: |
| Job duties include inside office work, primarily at a desk. In-state travel is required and out-of-state travel may be required. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle. |
