The Belmont County Health Department provides infectious disease surveillance. This is in accordance with Ohio Department of Health guidelines. All doctors, hospitals and laboratories are required to report per Ohio’s Communicable Disease Reporting Rules any suspect or confirmed disease of public health concern. The most immediate purpose of infectious disease surveillance is the management and control of communicable disease.
The Belmont County Health Department public health nurses gather information to provide management of these infectious diseases for the health and well being of our citizens in Belmont County. All services are confidential.
